Steps to ensure at most security of your WhatsApp account
Imagine how frustrating it is for a hacker or scammer when they try to gain unauthorized access to your account, only to be met with multiple authentication barriers, including biometrics. By implementing robust security measures, you can outsmart these malicious actors, making it extremely difficult for them to breach your account's defenses.
“So how do I keep my account secure?” You asked and we shall guide…
- Go to the three dots on your WhatsApp and click on it to see options.
- Click on the settings options and you will see a variety of settings.
- Select the Account options and this is where you will see a variety of options that will help keep your account safe. We will start from the first option which is passkey to the last option which is Two-step option.
What is a passkey and how will it help secure your whatsapp account?
Apart from the fingerprint or your pin, the passkey is an extra layer of confidence for your account. When you have this boost of confidence set up all you need is your face, fingerprint or a custom pin that only you know of to unlock your account.
- After selecting the passkey option, select “Create a passkey” You will be allowed an option for how you want to secure your account either by pin or by fingerprint of face.
- Moving on to our next feature which is email, after setting your passkey click on the back key and we will move to our next step which is email. For this you will need to secure your account with an email of your choosing. Just click on the “Add email” button and after registering your email a verification will be added.
- Our next measure is Two-step verification. This applies if you would like to register for whatsapp again. You will need to remember this pin. It helps secure your account in that when someone wants to take over your account and you are the only one who knows this pin then it becomes difficult. After tuning on this feature, you will be required to set up a 6 digit pin which after confirming it you will be all set.
As much as all this steps will help to keep your account secure remember to:
- Never disclose your pin to anyone, this applies to places you keep your pin. Remember that this holds very important contacts for you and when they are compromised it will cause a big chain reaction in your life.
- Always ensure that you keep a backup of your chats you can set this feature to either backup your chats daily, weekly or monthly. This feature is gotten from Settings > Chats > Chat backup
You will be required to provide a suitable google account and you can also set up your preferred frequency of backing up your chats.
Remember that online safety always starts from the primary user that is you, just as overall appreciation will always be from you.To stay online and connected, keep your accounts safe and backup your data.
If there is one thing that will always stay in style is your safety whether out there in the world or on the online space.
